Best Way To Breed?
-
So, as far as breedingn goes, I'v just been doing it. I started the game with foundation mares, and bred them to star papered studs off the public search horses list, and then have continued to breed all of them, and their offspring, and their offsprings offsprings, to other star papered studs. What is the best way to breed? I'm sure this isnt it.

It's a pretty good way to get show horses, but if you want to increase the quality of your breeding stock, it's easier if you breed even generations--foundation to foundation, 2nd generation to 2nd generation (offspring of foundations), etc. Making sure you use all the available testing will also help your lines advance. Players who are really serious about continually improving lines are very strict about neutering less than ideal horses.
It's a bit easier and quicker to cull stallions than it is to make the same decision for mares, since they than be papered at birth and it takes three living foals before you can paper a mare. I'll let others speak to their rules about this, since I"m not obsessive about my lines, for the most part.Thanked by 1DentonFarms
