Scores on the papers?
-
Can someone please point me in the right direction of where I could find a list of paper scores?
For both stallions and mares?
I'm having trouble making words today LOL. I mean like what are the scores and how they are ranked?
I.E Like I have a Yellow papered foundation mare, does that mean she's better than my Red papered mares?
Sorry if I'm confusing!
TIA! -
Star-A-B-C in descending order for stallions. Gold-Blue-Red-Yellow in descending order for mares.

Generally speaking....
C is totally acceptable for foundation stallions, but not for 2nd gen and later.
B is acceptable for 2nd gen stallions if sire is C or tested superior to a B foundation sire.
A is acceptable for 3rd gen, 4th and maybe 5th gen depending on how strict you want to be with your lines.
Star is best quality.
Yellow is fine for foundation mares, but red is better.
Red is acceptable for 2nd and 3rd gen mares. Yellow is not acceptable for 2nd and later.
Blue is better quality
Gold is best quality.
Since I work with normal C lines (mostly), I expect A by 3rd gen and Star by 6th gen on my boys. I expect blue by 4th gen and I would expect 6th gen mares to paper gold.Thanked by 1HayesStable -
Ah, but you are both forgetting a level. The most self-explanatory. Showable Only for stallions, and Failed for mares. These two are the lowest levels possible, and you need to snip those horses immediately.Thanked by 1HayesStable

Great! Thank you guys so much! I only have tested my foundation mares to be Red so far, so when Yellow popped up I was confused.
(No wonder why she produces bad babies) LOL. -
Not entirely true. I've had a yellow papered foundation mare foal an A papered son that was superior to a B foundation stallion.
