Exceptional Producing
-
On HJ2 we don't have these so I have some pretty basic questions. If I have a stallion who is Exceptional Producing Champagne does that mean he's exceptional at producing Champagnes or is the champagne on the end just in reference to his own color? Next question is I would assume because these Exp Pro boy paper B that I can expect to see A colts out of them? Thank you in advance for putting up with what might seem like basic questions.

Exceptional Producing is referring to his breeding potential, And yes you could get A papered colts out of him. Champagne is just his color.
Also, Exceptional Show horses refer to their showing ability and Exceptional Perfect refer to both showing and breeding potential -- similar to the Perfect Foundations, just with an added boost.
Exceptional Producing stock also are placed in the Era before they were created, so if he was created in Era 5, he and his foals will compete in Era 4 (If he is bred to Era 5 mares).Post edited by Stony Brook Stables at 2016-03-28 05:17:18Thanked by 1whiskey Oaks -
So when you have Exceptional Show Horses, and Perfect Foundation, that gets passed down through breeding?
-
Breeding and Showing are only linked to certain extent. A good shower is not necessarily a great breeding horse, and a great breeding horse is not necessarily a great showing horse. Although some are really good at both.
Exceptional Show Horses will not have any more potential than a normal Foundation, so even though they are great showers, they are similar to breeding a normal create.
With a Perfect Foundation you are guaranteed a mare with the best foundation breeding potential. So your foals have to potential to be the best that they can be, but they could still 'swing' lower than 'the best' foals. If you breed the mare with another stallion with a 100% breeding potential, your chance of a really great foal increases more.
A good breeder will give you good foals, they could be good at showing or at breeding, or at both. The range of how good swings up and down independently on both breeding and showing.
Does that make sense? It took me a long time to grasp the concept, and even now I think I over-cull my stock -- if that is a thing! -
This makes sense - thank you so much for your help!!
