Squirrel!
-
I recently moved to a new house, back in November, and have been getting used of the new neighborhood and still unpacking boxes (seems like an endless task!). I live in a house that has 4 apartments, and I live in the upper left hand side, and actually have 2 floors, plus some first floor entrance way area. I also have a huge covered back deck on the second floor. I can't have any pets here, so I have gotten around to feeding the birds and of course once you start doing that, you get squirrels, lol. Well, yeah, I have the regular bunch of gray squirrels, a mother and 2 babies, plus another gray squirrel that I figure has to be the papa, or an older sibling. But what I also have that showed up one day is a red squirrel!
This is only the second one I have seen in my life, the first one was at a boy scout park, and they had the area roped off so people would not bother it.
So now I have one that comes up and feeds at my deck. He is sooo cute!
He looks like this:

I have heard that they are territorial, and I hope he stays around (yes I know it is a boy, I checked with binoculars. He has boy parts.) I've been kinda worried about him for the past week, as I hadn't seen him since the 23rd, and was worried Mama squirrel had chased him away. But he showed up today, along with the second adult gray squirrel. I'm soo happy! Was Rebecca Iavelli on the old forum

As cute as the gray squirrels are, I love the red squirrel! We may have them down here in S Texas, but I've never seen one. Only pictures! lol

So pretty!
And congratulations on your new home :)
I've never seen a gray squirrel. Here in Poland, as in whole Europe, we have mostly (or maybe only?) red squirrels.understand the significance of signatures
