So...back in the game and need lots of advice!
-
It's been a few years, but I'm excited to be back in the game. With all the changes, and a renewed desire to breed some lovely and desirable ponies. I want to breed quality blacks and no pangare browns with or without patterns (I want one small leopard line and no tobiano). I already purchased an upgrade and a show barn, since I know how awesome those are from last time playing.
I'm looking for two things: advice and ponies (some nice foundies and show ponies are especially welcome)
I want to breed from the ground up, without boosting, and I think without GMT's, though I don't have an issue breeding to horses with either down the line. I want to create horses that are desirable for breeding and sale (I will be much pickier than I was last time).
So, any and all advice is appreciated! I haven't played in about 3 years, so I may as well be brand new. Please send your sale ponies and words of wisdom my way!Thanked by 1Ammit -
The first thing I would tell you is to take advantage of all the testing you have access to - particularly gelding and mare advice. If the horse doesn't get past those, you don't want to have it in your breeding program.
The second would be to start building your show string. Many people overlook that and focus just on breeding horses at first, but remember it's the show horses that will bring you the money.
The last is to not worry overmuch about stallion collecting at first. There are always oodles of stallions available for public use, and that way you get a nice mix of lines in your barn rather than having most of your babies by the same few stallions. -
I usually have 9 or so stallions per generation on a rotation. I use the first set of 3 one year, then the 2nd set of 3 the following year then the 3rd set of 3 the third year, then the rotation resets. If one gets sold or retired, I replace the roster spot with a new stallion.

Here is a search for horses with the tattoo Available to Adopt. You will find quite a few horses there, many of them with a decent number of show points to give your showing bonus an immediate boost. All of them are available at a very low price, with the understanding that you are taking them to keep in your barn and not to sell them quickly for a profit. PM the owner of the horses you're interested in.

Think! - It's not illegal yet. -
Thanks for the helping hand. I was a bit under the weather yesterday.
