How did this happen? (PT)
-
Both of this filly's parents have 9.8-9.9 PTs. Somehow this mare got 11.1 PT from that. I thought PT only jumps in smaller increments per generation. I'm just trying to figure out how this happened or if it's completely random? Thanks

A parent's PT has nothing to do with the foal's PT. The foal gets it's PT from the breeding ability of the parents.
If you breed two strong breeders together, you can see significant jumps in PT. And yes, there is a bit of luck factor involved that can alter it a bit higher or lower, but the most of it is a reflection on the parent's breeding quality.Post edited by Gael4ce at 2016-06-20 11:09:30 -
It probably helps that the sire has a 2% breeding boost, as well. ;)

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize that's how the PTs worked. Good to know
