Any other way to make money?
-
I'm a new player, so I still don't know how this game works. I bought and bred some horses and now I don't have very much money... I know you can sell horses to make money, but is that the only way? Is there some way I can "get a job" or anything. I've played other horse games and I really like this one, but they had other ways to make money, so I'm just curious if the same applies here.

The best way to make money on this game is to show your horses. Every horse in a show, except for the one that comes in last earns show points (the number depends on the level of the class and the horse's placing). Every day you get a showing bonus which is about 7% of the number of points your horses have (It used to be 50% paid once a week but was recently split into daily payments). it takes some time and patience to build up a show string with a decent number of points, but if you train your horses every week and show them all twice each week the points will build up to give a decent income. If you look on your Stable home page, the 3rd line from the bottom tells you how many points your horses have and the 2nd line from the bottom gives your daily showing bonus. Don't worry about the last line, net profit. That is calculated by subtracting entry fees from show payout and does not include the money from the showing bonus. It will probably be a negative number, but as long as your horses are earning points that is what is important.
I'll give you a spayed mare to give your showing bonus a boost. She currently has 2735 points (which should add about 195hbs to your daily bonus) and is showing near the top of 7W so will continue to add points each time she shows.

Thank you so much for all the information and help! The horse is wonderful! Thank you so much! :)
1 more question you may be able to answer, how do the levels work? Is it the higher the level and number, the better? This may seem like a silly question... -
This is a complex game, so no question is silly!
Horses work their way up the showing levels as they are trained. All horses start out somewhere in Level 1 with a base show score that is assigned randomly. Each week when they are trained, their show score increases by a certain amount, depending on their Showing Aptitude, a numerical prediction of how much they will gain and how far up the ladder of showing difficulty they will be able to go.
Many foundation horses have a Showing Aptitude somewhere between 9 and 10. These horses typically add about 3 points to their show score with each training. The point spread in Level 1 is very small, only 10 points between 1 Local and 1 World. After that, until you get to Level 6, there is about a 10 point spread in the show scores at each Level/Grade.

Okay, that's beginning to make sense to me now. Thank you for your help. :)
