Trade in barns for IVs

If all my barns are full, primary barn overflowing even, and I trade in some extra barns for IVs, what happens to the horses in them? Do they disappear or do they spill over into my already overfilled primary barn?

They go into your primary and you are barred from breeding or showing any horses until you get your numbers fixed. :)Need to contact me? Read this first.
