There are 5 ordinary ranks and rank special. The rank tells how rare the HH is. Higher ranks have less common colors or patterns and allow fewer creates and shares, but they aren't "better" unless you are looking specifically for that color. There are some herd helpers that specify quality: Top Notch Producers, Great Show Horses, Perfect Foundations, Exceptional Producers, Exceptional Show Horses, Exceptionally Perfect, and all Rank Specials which are at least perfect foundations. Otherwise just look for colors that you like and run all your creates through the free testing to see which ones are good enough to breed.
