Gene White x Frame
-
I forget which colors can / cannot work together. I have a white silver black mare that I want to breed to a black frame. I believe the mare is white 1.
-
White and frame play very nicely with each other, so long as both are heterozygous.
Breeding any white to any other white has a 1 in 4 chance of a dead foal (it gets white from both parents.) My own experience has been that if I mistakenly breed two whites together, the foal dies.
Breeding two frames together also will probably result in a dead foal, with the same odds.
Sabino of all kinds does not work well with White 1 and White 2, although it is supposed to be okay with White 3 and White 4. It's all right to breed any two sabinos together, since the definition of sabino is a kit mutation that is non-lethal when homozygous.
