You can buy a basic upgrade with hbs (hajibucks - the in game money). Make sure you collect your weekly pay. Make sure you train your horses weekly. Enter all your horses twice a week in shows. All horses earn money except the last placed in each class. You may not get back what you paid in entry fees but the important thing is that your horses get points for placing in the classes. You get half this amount in hbs (eg 30 points = 15 hbs). This is totalled up for all your horses on a weekly basis and paid into your account each day. There are horses with the 'Adopt A Horse' tattoo specifically for new players to help them get started. Don't waste your money on expensive breedings. Finally, patience! That is the name of this game.

They will bring you at least 800 hbs each every week in your daily showing bonus as long as you keep them in your stable. If you continue showing them, they will continue adding points and increasing your income bit by bit. Please don't sell them to make a quick addition to your bank roll. They will be far more valuable to you over the long run.
