I made a foundation horse with a PT of 1.9. Should I be getting rid of this horse?
-
Did she pass the free testing--Mare Advice, Showing Aptitude? If so, then try her out as a brood mare. She's definitely not a show horse. Remember that, especially in foundations, there is NO connection between showing ability and breeding ability. So she might turn out to give you some very nice babies.

Only in foundations is there no connection between breeding and showing. In lined horses the numbers are related but not the same.Need to contact me? Read this first.

She was inconsistent but passed the mare advice test to keep her intact. So I think I'll keep her as a brood mare. So does that mean she won't advance in showing levels as much as the other horses?
-
She probably won't train out of level 1 or gain more than a handful of points over a lifetime of showing. The best use of such a mare is to put her in the pasture and leave her there so she can produce the best foals possible.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.
