Negative Score?
  • This horse managed to have a negative score. http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2809523

    1. Is this normal for very low pt, inhand horses?
    2. Is this in any way indicative of how the horse will preform later in her career as a show pony?
    3. Did she bite the judge?
    4. Is this grounds for culling? (I do not have minimum pt requirements)

    On another topic. http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=2809516
    5. Horses who win inhand get .5 of a point. This horse has one three inhand classes (1.5 points), but His page says 0 points? Do they need to reach a certain number of points before it shows? Or, should I not bother with inhand classes? I missed something :-O

  • Newborn foals and new creates can have a wide range of starting scores. And yes, some of them do start out with a negative number. This just means that they start from behind, so to speak, in gaining points. However, since RB George has a 9.7 PT score, well in the range for second gen horses, she should do okay showing. She'll level up a bit behind her age mates, but since horses are entered in shows based on their total points, not their ages, it probably won't make a lot of difference to her career. She will probably gain 3 points every week until she is 9. She won't be in as high a level as other horses with her PT, which will affect her total profit level, of course, but I would probably keep her.

I can't answer your question about Magnetic fufu's points showing up, but I can address your last question. Many players never show yearlings because, with only 2 horses in a class, who comes first is largely a matter of the luck of the draw in starting score and who else is in the class. Some people regularly show yearlings about 4 times to get an idea of what their inconsistency might be. This colt seems to be perfectly consistent, so far.
