Newborn foals and new creates can have a wide range of starting scores. And yes, some of them do start out with a negative number. This just means that they start from behind, so to speak, in gaining points. However, since RB George has a 9.7 PT score, well in the range for second gen horses, she should do okay showing. She'll level up a bit behind her age mates, but since horses are entered in shows based on their total points, not their ages, it probably won't make a lot of difference to her career. She will probably gain 3 points every week until she is 9. She won't be in as high a level as other horses with her PT, which will affect her total profit level, of course, but I would probably keep her.

Many players never show yearlings because, with only 2 horses in a class, who comes first is largely a matter of the luck of the draw in starting score and who else is in the class. Some people regularly show yearlings about 4 times to get an idea of what their inconsistency might be. This colt seems to be perfectly consistent, so far.
