Pasture Breeding Questions
-
Is it only the mare that gets a bonus by being left in the pasture for up to 30 days, or does the stallion get a bonus the longer he's left in the pasture as well? I'm trying to figure out if I should leave my mares in the pasture for the 30 days before breeding and then just move my stallions in and out the day of breeding in order to allow them to still show. I'm too young of a stable to really give up any showing money so I'm trying to figure out how to maximize the quality of my foals through pastures without losing any show profit/points.

Yep only the mares. :DNeed to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

Can I add to the question? If I have multiple mares in my pasture and I want to breed to multiple stallions, how do I do this? If I move multiple stallions in, will it give me the option of selecting certain mares to breed to each one? I just don't want to accidentally breed all the mares to one stallion.

If there is more than one stallion in the pasture, some of the mares will be randomly matched with each stallion. It's usually fairly close to an even division, but not always exactly so.
I have my two Axiom stallions in a 60 acre pasture with 60 mares. One has 31 foals from this year's pasture breeding. The other one has 29. -
One more pasture question! If you switch a mare from one pasture to another, do they keep their days from the old pasture? Thanks
-
Yes, as long as you move them directly from one pasture to the other, not by your barn.ID 195859

Thank you!
