How to use buddy chat
-
I know this is ridiculous because I have been playing this game for ages - but I want to 'buddy sale' some horses to another player and haven't done it since we changed to the new system. How do I go about it?

Click on the Buddy Chat option under Community. Under "Create a Chat Room" enter a name you want to use and click Submit.
The chat room will show up. You can select rules for who can put horses up for sale, although "Any" will only apply to those with a Premium Upgrade.
You can also create rules for buddy breeding in the same way.
Use the selling rules drop down box to select the horse and then give it a price.
Enter the ID number of the person who will be buying the horse in the member list.
Then let the buyer have the link to your chat room so they can find it easily.
Personally, I have named my chat room SCA Horse Exchange, since I use it primarily to arrange horse sales. When the transaction is complete, I usually remove the buyer from the member list. This can prevent confusion about who is to buy any horses up for sale, but I think some people have long lists of members in their room, especially if the room is specifically for dealing with limited genes.Thanked by 1WhiteValley -
If I have a basic account and I'm the one selling the horse does my buyer have to set it to any to sell it since the other party set up the room?

Anyone can be made a member of a chat room, at the discretion of the owner, and anyone can be allowed to purchase horses, but only members with Premium Upgrades can put horses up for sale there. This rule was put into place very shortly after Ammit created chat rooms for us, because some players immediately figured out how to use that to cheat and did so.
With a Basic Upgrade, you will have to arrange to be signed in to the game at the same time with the person who is buying it, and coordinate the sale through Private Messages. I have used this technique, usually with great success when buying horses from members who don't have Premium Upgrades.
