KP?
-
I've never really had any interest in breeding KP, but I guess since I unintentionally bred this one http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=4747717 I should probably learn about it.
Can anyone tell me what KP is, where my mare got it, and how it works? -
She got it from her grandsire. How it works in a nutshell is that if you have two Kit genes (doesn't have to be the same one) you can get roan-ish patches. If you reroll, you can get different looks and with all the white that one has, it may even not be visible.
-
I rerolled her. That is really cool. How would one go about breeding that (intentionally this time haha)?
-
You also have to have two copies of KP along with two Kit genes. Since Armagnac is her grandsire on both sides, she got a double gift from him. Both her parents are heterozygous for KP, carrying the gene without expressing it.

So in a sense it works like DP, but with the Kit gene?Post edited by HollidayFarms at 2017-01-15 06:21:45

No. It works like e/red. It takes two copies to show up.Need to contact me? Read this first.
