Showing Levels
  • Why do some foundation horses start at higher levels than others? Also, can foundation horses reach level 6+?
  • Ammit designs most of the features of this game with the variability of real life.

When a horse is created (or a foal is born) a die is rolled (that is, a random number is generated from a limited field) and a base starting score is assigned to the new horse. They generally range between 1 to 10, I believe. At any rate, their initial score determines where in Level 1 they will start out. Once they start training, a certain amount, based on their training ability as shown by their PT scores, is added to their base show score every time they train, and they begin their progress up through the showing levels. Foals have to turn 2 before they begin training. Their level of inconsistency will affect what they actually score in a given show.

Occasionally a foundation horse will reach Level 6 or 7. I have an Exceptionally Perfect stallion (PT 10.4, equal to a good 2nd gen out of ordinary creates) showing at 7R; a 15 year old Ex Perf stallion at 7L, and a 13 year old Exceptional Show mare at 7L. From number 4 through 196 on the search of foundation horses sorted by training level, all of them are somewhere in Level 6. This includes all genders--mares, stallions, spayed mares, and geldings.
