SMA Question
-
I caved and got the upgrade to have Strict Mare Advice. I started through my mares and have a question. The advice is based on whether they are a worst producer than their dam, correct? One of my who was snipped was a foundation whose AFPT was 10.15 (hers was 9.1); the sire was about a 9.6. That struck me as odd? So what did I miss? Thanks! still trying to figure out the basics so I appreciate any help. here's the mare: http://www.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=4376950

Mares that are spayed by Strict Mare Advice are definitely worse breeders than their dams. It'll also spay in cases of great inconsistency. In the case of foundation mares, they're tested against a benchmark foundation. It's very similar to how Gelding Advice works for colts: the margin for error is pretty wide, wide enough that trying to second guess it isn't really worth it.
