Snip Snip!
  • Wow I love that we can paper mares without waiting now! Now I gotta do some hard snipping. I wish I could afford a boost token for this girl :'( But alas I cannot so she'll get the snip eventually...

  • For those of you that snip mares based on papering, would you personally snip any 3rd gen mare that papers Red? Or would you be lenient? Just trying to make my lines better quality :)

  • If you really want quality lines, I would indeed spay any red 3rd gen mares. It's not hard to get blues by that point, even starting with regular foundations in the first generation. Blue mares are the equivalent of A stallions, more or less.
  • I expect Gold by 3rd generation. I only let a few slide this time around. I mainly use boosted foundations though, but they should for sure be blue no matter what by 3rd generation.
  • Thanks! I have 45 3rd gen mares. Only 17 of them are blue papered :D So I guess i'm going on a snip spree!

  • Most of my lines are regular create so by third gen I expect blue. I'm not sure about Gold yet I did a massive purge a few months ago and I'm not that far yet.
  • For 3rd gen mares that didn't paper blue, I'm looking at their AFPT. If their AFPT is .5 higher than their PT score, they stay. To me, they might be very high end reds that are just 1 or so point short of blue.
  • Yeh if it's a new line I will keep a few high reds until I have enough blues, their average foal PT for gen3 though has to be getting close to 11, so at worst 10.7 and up. Not sure with the new papering as they get the paper before their foals now!
