Cloned horses
-
Quick question if anyone as a second to answer. Is there any way you can tell which horse have been cloned? I know it says bred by Hajinc, but is there any way to tell who was cloned, how many cloned they've had, etc? More specifically for foundations. I've tried looking around to find the answers, apologies if I've overlooked it. Thanks!

I think that bred by Hajinc University and University Warmblood (or whatever), will be your best clues to whether a horse is a clone. The one clone that I have created has both those markers, and I did put the information about what horse had been cloned in his notes, but not everybody does that, I think.

Do you think there is a bias towards clones, either positive or negative?

Nope, I have never once seen it be a selling point for or against.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

It's expensive and get's more expensive everytime you do it so you can't use it to clone and sell to make money.Need to contact me? Read this first.

I was thinking more along the lines of accidental line breeding. I know it doesn't make a difference in the game, and is done quite often in RL, just curious if there is any way of checking if it's something you'd like to avoid.Post edited by veetiepony1 at 2017-03-12 07:26:13

If you're cloning a foundation horse I imagine it doesn't matter since it's basically creating a brand new foundation with zero ties to the other one (other than a duplication of the genes and stats.)
If you're cloning a lined horse (or have a clone of a lined horse) with a little bit of sleuthing you should be able to figure out who it is a clone of: just go to the dam's page and find whichever horse is most alike and it's probably that one, unless the breeder did that cross numerous times, but still.
As far as line breeding, or avoiding it goes, clones don't make that any more complicated than non-clones. :)
