I'm still here, quick update
-
I haven't been very active lately, just no time. Last few weeks have been crazy. Went on vacation, came back and my Grandma broke her leg. 3 days later my Dad was found dead in his house, quite the shock and lots to try and clean up there. He had 3 horses, 2 wills and a house we have to do something with. Fighting with the banks and lawyers right now so we can settle everything. Trying to figure out what to do with his horses, 2 old and sick, one untrained pasture ornaments for the last 10 years. The old mare(sister to my mare) makes the decision for me and dies. Then my Grandma takes a turn for the worse, she passed away peacefully on Tuesday. Another funeral to plan, it was yesterday so another chapter closes. Still trying to decide what to do with Dad's other two horses, I really can only save one of them. I think I will put the old lame boy down, the one me and my Mom bought for Dad over 20 years ago, and try to train and give the young one(nephew to my mare) a chance of life. Right now if I try and sell him, he would only go for meat, he doesn't deserve that. My hubby isn't terribly impressed with the idea of a 4th horse, but he is willing to suffer for my wishes on this one. This is the chunky monkey I think I will be bringing home http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y296/sunwolf29/Horses/Picture035.jpg
Work is absolutely insane right now, Hubby's work the same. Last night is the first good night sleep I have had in over a month, I almost feel normal. Somehow through all of this we inherited my Grandpa's old boat, though after doing some repairs we haven't had much of a chance to take it out. Took my son tubing, I swear I have never seen a grin so big on his face before. He is going to love water skiing. Today I'm going to have an early birthday party, eat some pulled pork that my awesome hubby is cooking for me and gonna play rock band until we fall asleep. :)
My horses are doing great, Apple has been awesome, my sanity lifesaver when I just need to get out for a quick trail ride. Thunder has been behaving wonderfully, some of his young colt antics have really calmed down. Baby is the same as ever, bully to the other horses, super sweet with people, opinionated by reasonable. I've only taken her out rarely this year, she misses the attention but not the work lol.
So there is the high level update. I just bred some pasture foals and I see I am losing money with showing, time for some virtual culling. :) -
So sorry to hear about your losses. It seems that when it rains, it pour, huh? Hope everything starts looking up for you soon!Specializing high quality dark horses with lots of chrome.

(((HUGS!))
I was just wondering about you today, thinking that you hadn't been on for a while. Sorry to hear about your father and grandmother. Hope things settle down for a while and you get a chance to catch up on your sleep and relaxation time. Don't cull to many of the older horses, especially ones with points, as the show system was changed. Check out this thread.

Well, put the big black Diablo down today. Tried to load Sierra, but it was a no go. Just too much at once for the poor guy. Will try again another day I guess when it is not so windy and I have more help.

I missed this post earlier, so I want to extend my condolences to you and your family. Sounds like you've definitely been experiencing a lot the last couple of months. Glad to hear from you again though. Hopefully Sierra will load for you next time!Imation Stud ID# 2609

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes.
Today we loaded Sierra just fine, he walked in no antics. Brought him home and he is settling in well with the others. I can't believe how calm he is, the upheaval he has had but he is soooo not spooky with anything.
