GP Club?
-
hello,
I know GP shows in bay based horses, but will they not show up to be entered in the breeders club if they are chestnut, even if they are carriers? Thanks! -
I believe that horses have to be homozygous for GP to be eligible for that club. I"m not sure if they also have to be bay-based. However, I did a search for horses in that club, and while I didn't look at all 282 pages of them, every one I did see was either bay, buckskin, or amber champagne.

Sandy creek, thanks for your time looking at them. The horse in question is homozygous, just not bay based, which led me to believe they need to show it?
-
GP only shows on bay based horses (E? A?) and when it's homozygous. The only exception is buckskin horses (which are E? A? CcrC?), they sometimes have a lighter mane and tale that indicates they are GP carriers.
Only bay based homozygous GP horses can be entered in the breeders club.HJ1 160524
