I see that you have a Basic Upgrade, so you will be able to do this.

On your Stable Home Page, at the right among the Upgrade features, you will find the tattoo registry. Your first tattoo slot is free. Others cost 10,000 hbs each.

On the left you will see a place to give your tattoo a name. Type in what you want, and click Edit Tattoo Name.

Then click the Edit Tattoo Image button on the right. This takes you to the editor. The opening view shows you a box for designing the tattoo on the left. It is 25 pixels by 25 pixels square.

Below its right corner is a small black square. This displays the current color. The default color is black. By clicking on that little square, you will open up a display that gives you a number of ways to select a different color.

Play around here to see what happens when you click somewhere in the large box on the left that shows colors from white in the upper left corner to black in the lower right. There is a lot of gradations that can be chosen. Click in a number of different places and you will see, to the right a little square with the original color on the bottom and the color for the place you have selected above it. When you've found the color you want to use, click the OK button.

This returns you to the page where you actually design the tattoo. On the right is a selection of tools. There is a brush for applying color, an eraser if you get color where you don't want it, and a dropper to select a color you have already used if you want to use it somewhere else. You will have to select the brush again after using the eraser, but when you have selected a color using the dropper, it will automatically return you to the brush tool.

Personally, I find it easier to design pixel by pixel instead of trying to draw lines, mainly because I'm working with a mouse, which is an awkward tool for drawing lines.

You will see a button for saving your work. The editor shows you any previously saved design to the left and the current state of your tattoo on the right. I recommend saving your design fairly frequently.

When you think you have the design where you want it, you can try it out on a horse or even several horses of different colors to see how it works. It costs 25 hbs. to put the tattoo on the horse and 500 to take it off.

You will find the place for putting a tattoo on your horse on the Tack tab, at the very bottom of the page. Tattoos can be placed in the four corners of the image. I find this the best place for very colorful, largish designs. They can be placed on the hip, thigh, shoulder, wither, cheek or invisibly on the inner lip.

Have fun playing around as you design your tattoo.

However, if you find yourself stumped, several of us enjoy creating tattoos for other players. I am willing to do this for a relatively low price. You can also post a request for a tattoo designer in the forum.

You can sell tattoos to other accounts, but not between servers. Hunt and Jump 1 is entirely separate from Hunt and Jump 2, no horses, money or other assets can pass between servers.

To sell a tattoo, go to the tattoo registry. At the bottom of each tattoo listing is a box to enter the ID of the account you want to sell to and one for the price. Fill these in, then click the Sell This Tattoo button.
