testing of horses
-
why are there so many people not testing the mares and stallions before putting them up for sale or auction>not as if they have to pay.
how can you tell if when you get them home you have to alter them and you paid good money for them to be intact? -
Just don't buy those horses if you don't want to take the risk :) Or you could always PM the owner and say you're interested in a horse if it passes testing and then ask them to test it for you :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755

i still find it weird that they wouldn't test them first though.
-
Some people just put them in the auction to get rid of them, you get a minimum of 2500, where as if you directly sell them back to the game you only get 1000
-
I would imagine that some people may look at it as sort of a gamble too. For example, you have a second generation brindle baby and don't test it, someone might take the chance and buy it for more than the $2500. You could get an intact A/Blue papered result, or you could end up with an altered, expensive 0 point show horse.
-
If you are straight yumming new creates or second gen foals that you know you don't want to keep theres no reason to test. But these horses are not worth more than 2500hbs. If you like them paying that is not a huge deal and you can always send them back to auction if they don't make the grade.
-
I personally don't think of it/bother because I probably bred them purposefully to be yummed. If I contemplate keeping any I'll test them, but it just takes too long to go pick through and figure out who needs testing and who maybe shouldn't be tested of my horses for horses that are just being auctioned.
-
what i am talking about is the free testing to see if they will be altered or not. breeding advice.
-
Yes, we get that - but again, a lot of people are breeding these foals for the pure purpose of auctioning them off for the 2500. It's often not worth our time to bother testing them at all, free or not.
-
its a lucky draw, when they are auctioned off untested. I can, however, say, sometimes when i pick up foals for cheap sale I do find a 2g intact blue or red filly, or an A/B colt. I have had instances were i find 12/13PT show foals that were sold untested. Its really up to you and if you feel its worth the risk of buying an untested horse or foal
-
ok. got you guys. you have a special pasture for these auction foals?
-
just go to the community tab and search horses based on sales price. sometimes horses are for sale for less than 2500hb and sometimes theres a gem or two
-
I just use regular pastures (I don't keep my mares in pasture because I show them all)
