First, welcome!

To breed you will need mares that are at least 4 years old and have not already had a foal this year. On HJ1 a new year (breeding season) is every two months. You can either create some 4 year old mares using your daily herd helper or one that has been posted or you can search the sales boards just make sure they haven't already been bred this year. Look for foundation rescue horses for sale in the search enter stable ID 13 as part of your search. These horses are perfect foundations which mean they have 100% showing and breeding ability.

Stallions must be 3 or older to breed. There are always lots of stallions available for public stud and often for just 1hb so you don't even need to purchase stallions right of the bat. Just besure to read and follow any breeding contracts/notes on the horses page and you should breed like generations together not to be confused with eras. You will likely start with foundation stock so try to breed foundation to foundation, 2nd gen to 2nd gen etc...

Breeding season opens on the 1st of the month for mods, on the 2nd for upgraded accounts and the 3rd for all others and runs through the 21st. Breeding season is currently open right now.
