I'm looking for brown and buckskin horses to add to my herd as part of my breeding program. Mostly foundations but I'll look at any Gen. However, I haven't quite pinpointed the nature if the genetics that allows the certain shading I'm looking for. I've posted a link to a few mares of the color I'm looking for
I'm not picky in patterns, though I prefer to not have any w genes because I do have a lot of w3/wm/w10 etc

EDIT: This is the dappling I was looking for, but in the darker shade of browns like I posted above. I've seen it on one horse I hope it's genetically possible haha

The dappling is from the S+ and the last horse you linked has DP as well. Not sure about the other ones. Your best chance to find DP in foundations in a Soofty flaxen chestnut heard helper. S+ in a foundation you have to add in the GMT lab

EDIT: I think all the horses you posted have DP

If this is the color you are going for then the horse must have DP and S+ and Sty

I did some searching but not I'm even more confused. What garuntees a horse has DP?
I bought this stud because he had the signature dapples, but didn't throw DP foals withDP mares :/

Bravo25, that stallion isn't DP - you can tell because he's a chestnut with 2 ssty genes; if he had DP he'd be a liver chestnut.

What about silver grullo? I bought one who had dappling similar to two of my 2g dapple studs & he did throw dappled foals.
I guess my biggest question is how do garuntee or at least grab a higher percentage of success with a dappled foal?
I got a liver chest filly, which if I under right means she's at least het DP...?

Yes that is correct, A liver horse must carry at least one copy of DP.

Home DP looks nearly black. These two horse are hom DP:

Can you breed for dapples? I remember reading on the forum that dapples are pretty much a random thing, right? If they can be bred for, I may have to start a new line!

Bella - this were just examples she was using they're not for sale xD
Besides, a 2g blue is rare and usually they're 10k plus because of color or paternal lines
