damages to horse
-
what does it mean to the horse when it get damages? does it take off points or what? why do some people put it into a different barn after it happens?
-
Damages are in hbs not points. The damages are random and are linked to consistancy I believe. The more damages a horse incurs the worse the horse is. Most horses will get 1 to 5hbs per damage. Others will get much higher. I once had a horse do over 300hbs. After that it's best to get rid of them since they will continue to rack up costs. This means they are losing you more money than they are bringing in.Thanked by 1BellaPenn

Just as real horses sometimes get hurt or damage their stalls, the horses in the game sometimes are randomly assessed for damages. Most of the time this is only one or a few hajibucks. Sometimes it is more. When a horse has damages, a usually small sum is deducted from your stable's bank account. There is no affect on the horse's point total at all.
Back when the game was new and there weren't many tests to help us figure out what the horses would be good for, (and that was long before I started playing) high damages were a sign that a horse was not good for breeding. Now that we have lots of tests available (especially when we get upgrades) and damages are just a minor part of the game.
Personally, if I have a horse that racks up more in damages than its points are contributing to my showing bonus, I will send it to auction. However I rarely find that that is necessary.
I don't know why people move horses that have some damage costs into different barns. It's not something I have ever even though of doing.Thanked by 1BellaPenn
