Way to many mares...
-
I think I practically overloaded myself on mares. But, I wanted a good variety come breeding season. I will not be keeping all of them. I will most likely being getting rid of at least half or more. There is only a hand full right now I am seeing that might make good foals.
Anyone else do this or am I the only one here? -
Hahaha - the first symptom of HuntAndJump Addiction Disorder (HAJAD) is buying too many mares. Soon, you will keep all of your foals because they are so pretty. And you will buy more mares. And stallions - they will be flowing out the doors.
And then you will have over 4000 horses.
Welcome to the dark side. Now...go buy more mares! -
Bwahahaha! I second that! You will soon be completely immersed in this game, seeing genes every where you look. I can't even get a tampon out without smiling because it says S+ on it and I think of all the pretty, sooty plus pixel ponies.Specializing high quality dark horses with lots of chrome.

Actually, I think that's the way we all started. :-))
Since
a) it takes at least 3 foals to get a mare papered, and,
b) if you upgrade so that you can do embryo transfers, intact mares you don't want to breed become valuable as surrogates, and
c) intact horses with decent PT scores can earn a lot of money showing, and
d) the total show points of a herd contribute substantially to one's income, and
e) showing is the only reliable way to make money in this game,
many mares are worth keeping anyway.
The only thing I can add is that, most of the time, breeding pixel ponies is cheaper than breeding real ones. And we don't have to bale hay or shovel out the stalls.Post edited by SandyCreekAcres at 2014-10-17 15:29:41 -
Lol SandyCreek.... I love how you added that breeding pixel ponies is cheaper than breeding real horses... "most of the time."
What's sad is I saw this post and my first thought was "I'll have to keep an eye out for any mares they sell." Did I mention I have 2700+ MARES? Yes, just counting mares.
