GMT and GP.

I have a foundation hetero GP stallion that I would like to make hom. GP. Do I have to worry about canceling out the first GP? I have never GMTed GP before, but my SS gave me a stunning pair. Both remain unbred and I would like to make the stallion homozygous for GP.
I remember it being mentioned that it was impossible to tell which parent gave the foal GP if both were hetero, so GMTing would be a gamble. I just don't know enough about foundation GP to know how it works. As long as we've had the gene, I feel like a real L-) not knowing this. lolCraven Hill - 86081

From what I understand, provided the boy is 4 or under and unbred you would just add another GP to him and it should show. Since he's a foundie there is just a single GP button to use.Post edited by shellbell at 2014-03-11 05:45:30

That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't sure. Thanks! :DCraven Hill - 86081
