A good place to start, if you didn't find it yet, is the FAQ User Guide, linked near the bottom of the left menu. Breeding Info, a little below it, gives more pointers about this important part of the game.

Near the top of the forum page is an invitation to register for a Welcome Pack, that will give you some extra hajibucks to play with and a second small barn.

It's a complex game, so you're sure to have questions as you explore it. Please don't hesitate to ask them. We're a friendly group who like to help new players get started. There are no dumb or foolish questions, so don't feel embarrassed to ask about anything.
