How things work on the lb for top stud and mare have changed slightly so I wanted to give a rundown.
- Anytime you look at a horse's page it checks them for foals and then updates their foal score if they qualify for the LB. It zero outs the foal score for any horse that does not qualify.
- To qualify for the LB a horse must have a living foal that is less then 3 years old (that is foals born the current or prior year).
- Stallions must have a minimum of 10 foals, mares a minimum of 3.
- The act of breeding a horse will also know for a foal score update on both sire and dam. You do not need to pull up the pages of breeders from today on to get on the LB.
- Foal scores are not dropped at the end of the season. That means horses that no longer qualify for the LB are not auto kicked off. To force an update just open that horse's page and they will be removed.

My only question is I guess when the best time to 'breed' is. I have a mare who has been#1 producer for her era but this season, she shoed up once and then disappeared. Is it because another mare bred better than her and this she was 'removed'? Is then the best time to breed and get a spot on LB right before the next season?
Thank you :) -
When asking a question about a specific horse you should always post a link. Otherwise I have no idea who you are talking about. :D
There no best time to breed. It has no effect on the LB.Post edited by Ammit at 2017-09-11 11:36:49Need to contact me? Read this first.

I bought her last breeding season (July/Aug) and she sat at #3 in Julyish when I bred her foal. She moved to #1. Then by Aug she was no where near the top.
Same with my studs Mystic Dreamer and Pumpkin Spice. I've bred foals from them and watched them dip from #8 to #19 in a day. I was under the impression the LB changed as foals were bred this causing say a mare like mine who bred a great foal to be moved off the board when a different better mare bred a better foal
I don't know, I'm horrible at trying to explain it. I guess I'm just curious as to why it fluctuates so much and how I can try to get at least on of my horses on the board, I've see them in the top #15 before I'd like to go higher! :) -
She is lower quality then the number 25 mares on all the clubs she is in. MUCH lower quality on the color boards. Not to much off for the era 4. It was probably a fluke she was at #3 in the first place.
At the start of breeding season the numbers change a ton. Everyone is breeding foals. They aren't dropping because of your breeding they are dropping because higher quality horses are coming onto the board.
Also notice how she is 17 now and a second gen. The top mare is the equivalent of a 4th gen. You can't expect a 2nd gene to keep up with 4th gens.Post edited by Ammit at 2017-09-11 16:31:20Need to contact me? Read this first.
