Herd Helpers?
-
Hi,
This may sound stupid but are herd helpers always inconsistent? Every herd helper I have purchased (between here and hj2) has been inconsistent and its performance test has not been above 6.5. I have redeemed ranks 1-3.
I thought they were supposed to improve my herd (foundations because I'm new) yet all of them leave much to be desired.

No, herd helpers are not always inconsistent. PT scores can be anything unless you have a herd helper that gives you exceptionally perfect (PT score 10.4) or perfect foundation (PT score 9.9). These would be Rank 4 or Rank 5 Herd Helpers. A low PT score or inconsistency does not make a bad foundation horse. The score just gives you a guide as to how fast they will travel up the shows, both within and on to the next level of class. Although a consistent horse will give you a nice steady idea of how well it will do in shows, inconsistency is no bad thing as one week it might be bottom and next top of the class. Also, PT score bears no relation to breeding ability (in case you were wondering).
Herd helpers were not created to 'improve the herd' in the way I think you mean. Ammit created them to let us have some choice over colours that we particularly liked, and to have the chance at getting better breeding ability and/or better showing ability horses. If you want to get good foundation horses then Foundation Rescue (go to search horses and type 13 in the owner id box) has tested horses for 2500hbs.
I hope this helps. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask. This community is very friendly and always willing to help.
