Show pony advice
-
Waaa it now costs me 7 ivs per 15 stall barn i feel like im never going to be able to afford bigger barns and i have nearly 200 barns most of which are 15 stall barns
The way i play is i keep everything i create breed or buy but should i be only keeping higher gen foals and getting rid of my 2g foals?
Should i stop breeding and only buy show ponies?
Im guessing i should be filling my barns with better show horses and getting rid of the not so good ones to make the most of the barn space i have? -
I would focus on getting some 10 y/o or similar age show horses with points. That seems to me to be about the time they really start gathering the points if they are in the 10pt score range.
I've been keeping any spay or gelding with a pt of 12 or more and sending the others to auction to keep my numbers down. I know in the long run they will bring in lots of money and every season I probably get at least 100 or more that I let marinate in my show barns for the rest of their lives. I would be overrun in two seasons if I kept everything! The money I get from selling the spays/geldings under 12pt gives me money to comparison test all my colts and keep only the cream of the crop, fully test every foal I'm keeping and gives me extra to buy IVs.
I've got 2 1000 stall barns and one 210 stall just filled with altered show horses.
I show ALL of my intact mares/stallions in barns and let them bring in income as well. Auto shower is your friend!
On a side note, I seem to be hording intact mares (especially 2G!) so if you need some, I'l gladly send a few your direction that have some points built up. :)Specializing high quality dark horses with lots of chrome.

Just sell a bunch of those 15 stall barns back if you want to transition to larger barns.Need to contact me? Read this first.
I sometimes get busy and miss things. If your private message, question, etc. gets missed please ping me so I can follow up with you. I am also always happy to explain or clarify. (HAJ does not have a customer service email, please send me a forum message! )

I love auto show! also my highest pt foals are around 11 and they are just poorly bred show ponies i mostly only breed 2g fantasy gene horses and choc pallys i dont really have the game money or space to follow any breeding goals but i have for the first time bred a few 3g foals =) i have a few blue mares i never breed as i dont have stallions for them with new blood and i only really do the free testing and colour tests to save money which reminds me i was gonna go thru and geld stallions that i dont need but i may look for a few show ponies to buy every few days
-
You could merge a lot of those 15 stall barns and use the IVs to get bigger barns.
-
Ill lose money merging barns and atm every stall i have is full so ill also lose space i need more show ponies so i can start affording 30 stall barns but the more barns i buy the more expensive barns become which then leaves me with even less money to breed horses
-
I keep everything I breed, too - I currently have 41 barns, mostly 210s with some mondos for good measure. I have 12540 non-primary barn stalls and pay an extra 154% on barns, which means that a 15 stall barn would cost me 12 IVs. My next mondo barn will cost me 845 IVs (it used to be 330 before I had so many stalls).
While it's a bit of a bummer, I understand the necessity of barns purchased via IVs being a little more expensive. At the current rate, I can buy a mondo barn about once a month if I want; at the previous rate, I could afford to get one every nine days. That's not really a sustainable economy, and gives bigger accounts a leg up in expanding their barns even more quickly than we already do.
In terms of breeding / keeping horses: Your horses aren't "poorly bred show ponies" if they've got PTs of 11 plus! While they may be unevenly bred, there's nothing wrong with bootstrapping your lines to get a leg up in money earners. The downside to this is that it may take them a little longer than their lower PT peers to end up consistently "in the money" since they'll level up more quickly, but in the long run they'll earn you a good deal of cash.
If you need stallions with new blood (even just public studs standing for 1hb each so you don't have to house them and use up valuable stalls), my barns are overflowing. Let me know what you're looking for and I'll see what I can rustle up. I don't know what I specifically have regarding certain colors, but I can always check.

The ones i need stallions for are fantasy genes like macchiato as i am only really breeding those horses since i paid real money for them i may as well make the most of them im disappointed i havnt gotten any were with my axiom lines tho as i paid a fair bit for those horses
-
There are plenty of macchiato studs up for breeding in the group - if they don’t fit your needs, PM me. I’m pretty strict about those lines but maybe we can work something out. And I can’t help with Axiom, sorry.

Please elaborate on why you feel you haven't progressed anywhere with some of your lines. Are you not getting the quality you had hoped for? Not getting the colors you had hoped for? Links?Go boldly, where no App has gone before!

Haven't really bred many but ive just started breeding my axiom stallion to normal mares so soon ill need horses of different blood lines to breed to them but with lack of game money and space i cant really do anything about needing new bloodlines
-
I would advise you take a season or two off from breeding to save up and resolve your space issue. Then your other issues will work themselves out after.Go boldly, where no App has gone before!

Yup, that's what I did some time ago. Space is still an issue for me, but at least I have several show barns now.
