This is the owners of different closed genes I have at the second. Please let me know if you purchased a gene and it is missing from this list. Also please note Ice 2 will be changing fully to closed status.

Concerning Ice 2

I purchased a 2nd Gen from another member. Will I need to purchase a Foundation or license to be able to continue breeding the gene?

I have to take a closer look at how much ice 2 was shared before making any calls on it. It was sold a please do not share status so I need to take a look at what was done before making any calls.

Im not on the list i didnt buy the gene tho either, since all my horses are NxN what happens there? Do i need to purchase the gene? It was bred into my herd ages ago when i used a public brood who had it, at the time i was unaware of it being in the stud i retained until he sired a foal which had a star like pattern on it and i asked on the facebook group how he ended up like that, only way i found out i had that gene

I may be wrong, but its my understanding that this is for closed genes only (the ones that are listed in orange on a horses genetic testing). Nexus isnt closed which is why it isnt on the list. :) So I do not think this will impact you, at least not for that gene.

But like some others, I also have some (old) ice 2 horses (given to me provided that they would never be shared)

I’m in the same boat as some others. I don’t have a foundation but I have Ice 2 in my barn, but it stays completely in-house.

Mine are correct. I don't have Ice 2 in my barns, so that's not a concern for me.

Not making any statement on what this will mean yet. Just showing the list I have. I may need to take a look at where these ice lines where shared from.

I traced back each line from where it came from. (It's clear who was a little too share happy lol.) Going to give everyone on this list a license but glad we are closing the doors now. I think spreading is in the wind now and we are shutting the door just in time. :D

I do have a slew of straws from my deceased foundation for personal use in my freezer.

At this point if you have a closed gene you are not supposed to nothing happens to the horse. They just become impossible to breed. Much cleaner and friendlier solution.

Ammit puts closed genes on sale for real money from time to time. Sometimes she introduces new ones, sometimes she has a limited sale on ones released earlier. During the sale of a closed gene, anyone can purchase the gene and have it put on a particular foundation horse that is younger than 5 and has no living foals. All those who purchase the gene have the right to breed for it. Neutered horses can be sold to anyone.

Hi Anmit,
Not hassling just adding it to the list, blue meadows gave me ice 4 eggs for SS one year and approved Golden spur to give me some ice 4 straws that I can't use.
