So I should have asked before I used a gmt on him, but I thought I knew what I was doing....I was just trying to get some spots from his appy :(

Hey, that's a pretty good reroll he was almost all white! I would still like to know what I did wrong if anyone's willing to explain it :)

I don’t breed for Appy but I would think the minimal white factor could be restricting the Appy spots to a small area on its butt.

Before using GMTs it is always a good idea to play with the search to see how a change will affect a horse

Thank you! I learned my lesson and I'm glad I found a reroll I like, I think the w20 and sabino play a part in it too now that I think of it :)

White factor doesn't affect appaloosa markings, to the best of my knowledge. Homozygous Llp will give you only a white blanket with no spots every time. Brindle may be having some effect on blanket appearance.

In order to see a larger blanket, you may need two copies of PATN.

You want polka dots right? You need to remove one of his LP genes to get that, but right now he will produce all spotted appy foals.
