Welcome to Hunt and Jump. This game is all about breeding and showing horses, and it's quite complex. I watched my daughter play for 8 months before I got up the courage to start my own account. :D She began playing in 2010 and I began in 2011, so you can see that it's a game worth staying with.
You will probably notice that there are a number of challenges presented to you as you begin playing. As you achieve each of the accomplishments listed, you will get some idea of how the game works. To start out, you can always make a post in this thread: http://www.huntandjump.com/forum/discussion/31364/october-2018-peer-group-discussion-thread#Item_1 . This is a place for introducing yourself to other new players, and I believe that posting there is one of the accomplishments and will give you an additional small barn and some extra game cash.
You'll see a link to the FAQ User Guide in the left margin. That is a tool that explains the game in quite a lot of detail. It can be a lot to absorb, but don't worry. Someone is always glad to give answers, especially to specific question.
To make money for your game bank account, neutered horses are important. You can train all your horses, once you've made some, once a week and show them twice a week. When you create horses (link near the top in the left menu), they will be made with some showing point before they are shown. Each time you enter a horse in a class, you pay an entry fee, and the top half of the horses in the class make a profit in hajibucks, the game money. However, every horse in the class gets some show points, unless it comes in last. Every night you will receive a showing bonus based on the total number of points that your horses are holding.
I hope this will be a little bit of help as you're getting started. Create a few horses, train them, breed them (stallions must be 3 and mares 4 years old to be bred). Show them. And never be afraid to ask specific questions. It's easier to answer one or two or three at a time, rather than trying to explain all of the game at once.
I look forward to seeing you around the forum.
