PT Help

So if a horse gets a low PT score say .50 can they bring that up or am I better off selling them? Thanks in advancePost edited by RutledgeRanch at 2018-10-15 11:40:13

No they can not. PT scores tell you how long and well a horse will train. A .50 score will be leveled off when it's created, and it would also not gain much if you got one or two trainings with it. Would probably end up with a score of 1 or 2 when showing, is my guess.
It has nothing to do with their breeding ability though, so you can safely keep him/her as a breeder. It wont make you much money through showing though!ID 195859 -
Hmm. I have a few that have low PTs. Debating whether or not to keep them or sell them cause I am low on Hbs

Personally, unless it's a fantasy (ice or nexus) or a kit promoter, I auction most of my low PT offspring, especially if they fail the breeding advice and are gelded or spayed. I consider 11 low. I will offer lower PT intact horses for sale at 2800 or less to give other players a chance to add to their stock without spending a fortune, but if they don't sell by next breeding season they go to auction.

I'd have to look again but I think most passed breeding inspection I have quite a few foals that I have yet to test so I wouldn't mind selling them

A foundation with a low PT score doesn't matter, as long as they passed breeding advice, but no good for showing. If you are getting foals with PT's 9 or under though, then at least one of the parents likely needs culling!Thanked by 1SandyCreekAcres
