Blue Eyes?

I've noticed that there are different eye colors running around, and I was wondering what known effects (if any) lead to blue eyes? Can it be bred for? Can you have a dark horse with blue eyes? Do they pop up randomly, or are there certain colors they're limited to?

Blue eyes are generally associated with the homozygous cream colors--cremello, perlino, smokey cream.
Champagne horses often have amber eyes.

Splash (SpS) also can generate blue eyes, no matter the base color.
So if you'd want a dark horse with blue eyes I'd try to incorporate some SpS in my lines!
These are some examples on dark horses I found in my herd, however I blue eyes are not so common, most of my splash horses just have brown eyes.

As you can see, SplashM, Sp3 and C70Y (other types of splash) also can generate blue eyes.HJ1 160524

Thanks, Master Stables. I was pretty sure that splash can cause blue eyes, but wasn't locating any in my searches to show as examples.

Speaking of eyes, mine aren't what they used to be - can someone tell if this one has blue eyes or not?

I know this has already been resolved, but I have been trying to incorporate more Splash into my DP line. I was especially excited when I bred this mare last season, I love the blue eyes on dark coats!

What are the chances of a Tobiano obtaining blue eyes? Would rerolling the portrait get me there?

A tobiano will only have blue eyes if it also has splash or homozygous cream. By itself tobiano does not change eye color.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.
