How much time do you spend ...
-
... on the game? I’m just curious, I’m a full time professional adult, and have been playing about two and a half real years. When my numbers were smaller i used to spend at least an hour or two a day, now I spend 10 minutes at most a day and would like to focus my barn space, funds and genes more efficiently. I’m overhelemed, have so many nice horses both funded RL and game-life money (time). I’m just curious how really large older barns as well as newer barns regulate their time, GMTs, Boost Tolkens, HBs and everything else.

Wanted to add in regards to the older and bigger barns, how are you managing with the halved season? Aside from Strict breeding advice. How do you delegate your genes to newer players that won’t be Mis used? Your aga your benchmark colt that you could easily geld could be a newer players better than benchmark.Post edited by veetiepony1 at 2018-11-22 13:46:43

I used to spend hours a day on the game... but nowadays I don’t have internet at home and my phone data needs to be rationed to last the month lol
I’ve streamlined my sorting, naming and barns so I spend a few hours a few times a month naming, sorting and snipping. Although sometimes it piles up for a few months if I’m busy other places.
I have a main account on each server and a secondary (mostly ignored) account on hj2.
My daily routine is to check the buddy chats and new forum posts on hj1 and hj2 and then I go back to real life. I check in quite often through the day but I don’t always get too hands on with my herd.
This spring I was feeling overwhelmed by my show horses and was always close to hitting the cap but didn’t have anything I really wanted to spend the money on so I started selling the show horses off for 3,000hbs. I know they’ve helped quite a few people build up their own daily bonus which Makes me happy.
Now that my KP herd has grown I’d probably be gmting KP foundation mares more often but since I haven’t added many horses to my buddy chat my daily bonus has been growing lately. Although still about half of what it was in the spring.Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes -
I am struggling quite mightily with the halved breeding season. I've got far too many things going on irl to spend twice the time in half the time like I used to. Keeping up with my breeding is cutting really hard into the time I could be spending on other projects instead. I've been playing 8 years. I really would hate to have to leave the game due to time constraints.
I may have to really cut back on my breeding stock, but my problem is that I'm too sentimental about my old lines to let them go, lol. -
I spend a couple hours on here each day. But i only work one day a week usually so i have a LOT of down time. I haven't been really effected by the halved breeding season because my stable is a tad smaller than the one i have on server 2 so i'm used to it being only one month. I've really learned how to hand snip even the pretty ones that don't meet my standards. A lot of times i purposely have left foal in pasture on the 27th to let them get sold back to the game automatically because i didn't want to deal with the hassle of desperately trying to save up for a barn. For the most part, if i don't need a stud anymore and i want the line staying clean/nice/quality, i'll snip the stud regardless off quality. This is especially true with the lines i have from other players (like you!) because i keep them in house. So even the pretty ones that are up to snuff on quality will get the snip because i have another colt i like better but can't sell those guys. They make lovely show ponies for me though so i can't complain too much lol
Time saver for me is that I gave up on naming with actual names. My studs get names based on their parents names but mares just get:
HS xG # yyy
x being the number generation and y being any gene suffixes i have (k for kp, d for dp, m for macchiato, etc).
I'm also VERY ADD. And i don't take medicine for it anymore so i have to bounce between doing different things which makes getting things done take a bit longer than they should because i get bored very quickly. So i typically choose 2-3 tasks and bounce between them (so like, naming unnamed horses, testing untested horses, and reorganizing pastures, etc). This helps me make a little progress in multiple areas.
I hope some of my rambling helped a little, at least :)Bluegrass Server: HayesStable - 221755
