Regrettably getting rid of intact foals and horses for good show horses *All 3,000*
  • I now see I can't grow in my current situation and need to organize myself. I have to regrettably get rid of these guys and gals for good show horses. I realize I lose more hbs everyday than I can make without even really trying. If you can help me in getting good show horses in return for intact foals and horses I'd gladly appreciate it. Or just buy them so I can go get good show horses.
Show horses I need are adult horses at any papering level as long as points are above 500. I'm new even though it doesn't look like it! I won the 1,000,000 hb lottery not even a week in the game and spent pretty much all of it like a fool. I can't really afford good show horses but I can try to do maximum of 2,500 hbs if I can, maybe even 3,000. I'll see if I can't raise that but I need to sell these ones first before I can accept anyone's horses as I'm completely full.

  • Breeding ability and show ability are completely separate and different things.

The papers (Blue, good, A, Star etc.) only tell you a horses breeding ability not how good of a show horse they will be.

The PT score is a better guide but it tells you how long a horse will train for before it starts to level off and earn less per training per week until eventually it doesn’t even earn a point per training. Usually a horse trains until it’s age reaches its pt score than levels off. Around 2-3 years later (I think it’s been a long time since I’ve really looked into it) the horse levels off to less than 1 point per training session.

Low PT horses will stay in each level longer and earn more points as they move through the levels.

High PT horses sort of rocket up the lower levels and may not earn many or any points on their way. But once they do get up to the big leagues they will earn more points per show and make up for it.

The only part I look at in show horses is total points. That is where your show bonus comes from. I would only buy horses that have points and don’t usually pick up yearlings because they will take months to add anything substantial to your daily show bonus.

  • That's very helpful information Bandit1119! I'm going to change that then.
  • And my best advice would be Saturday afternoon enter everything that has under 100-150 total points into the auction. You can keep any intact horse you really really love but try to cut down on your stallions (remember 1 stallion can breed 50 mares per season.)

Sunday (or I have way better luck with Tuesdays lol) go to the search page and click for auction and sort by total points. Starting at the top of the list work down adding 2,600 hbs bid to as many as you can (some will be outbid but don’t go back) stop when you run out of money to make bids or the horses points get to 100 or less. I go back a few times through the day and continue on from where I stopped off.

Then go and repeat the process with your cut off getting higher

  • Oh and I usually alter everything I get from the auction.

Spayed mares and geldings get a bit of a training bonus each week and train for longer than your stallion and mares do

  • Ok I'll see in the next few months if I can do that!

  • If all horses sell I can get a 30 stall barn so grab them if you want or need them!
  • This little guy is a gelding and I can't keep him as I need space for some other horse or pony that has decent points to help me right now.
