Not necessarily. I’ve had plenty of success breeding A’s to red and vice versus. Most of my homozygous foundations are boosted, which is why I buy garaunteed straws. Yes, there is more likelihood that the result may be altered, but in order to increase vaibality in my KP lines, that’s what I need to do. Remember, there are different degrees of paper levels. Like a high red or low blue.

You’re welcome, It definitely seems to take some more time, luck, straws and eggs to get something intact but for my lines it’s something I need to do if I want to have some variability in my herd and don’t want to go with a boosted foundation.

Everyone is always encouraged to play the game however they want. I’m overwhelmed by the size of my barn lol so I don’t mind spending the extra time and money getting an intact baby if it means it has the genes I’m looking for in my breeding program. I always keep the alters for show horses and rarely do I sell anything. I think that’s called hoarding lol.
