  • I have 2 stallions. I don't have enough money to see who is the best breeder and who would make better offspring. I need whoever would like to breed with them to breed their horses with them and post a picture in the comments. Thank you :)

  • Phew! Lots to unpack here. First, your first stallion will produce better offspring - he is A papered, while the second is going to be C papered (Rank Specials' breeding/showing stats are set, and Vault of Stars is always C for stallions or Yellow for mares). However, you're comparing an apple to an orange here.

Your first boy is an A-papered 3rd generation stallion. As a general rule, he will do his best work when bred evenly. Even breeding means breeding to horses of the same generation and paper level. Paper levels go like this from worst to best:

    Stallions: Failed, C, B, A, Star
Mares: Showable Only, Yellow, Red, Blue, Gold

So, your first boy will be best bred with 3rd generation Blue mares. There's some wiggle room there - each paper represents a range of values. That means that while breeding a stallion that's barely an A may not produce intact foals with a mare that's barely Red, he may produce intact foals with mares that are almost Blue. But to start, even breeding is the simplest!

Your other boy is a C-papered foundation - he has no family in the game. He's best bred, using the method above, with Yellow papered foundation mares. These are easiest to come by as a new player since you can make them yourself!

There are other factors to consider too. For instance, your first boy carries KitM, which is a fairly attractive and popular white spotting pattern! However, he also carries KitW2, which can be lethal when bred with other white genes - check the FAQs for a handy chart. He's also an inconsistent shower, meaning he's slightly more likely to produce inconsistent foals. Some people really value consistency, while others don't mind.

Ultimately, who you breed is up to you! You could breed both each with their own set of mares, or pick your favorite and start there! Asking the forums is a great start though - people are always happy to help :)
  • Thank you for the breakdown of the horses genes this really helped a lot. I want to see the coat colors they will produce as well. But the breakdown of the genes made it easier to understand the papers and stuff xD. But thanks for the help. :)
  • Coat colors depend on the mares too! Since your boys are black based, you might get black foals (out of another black-based, EE or eE or Ee, mare), bay foals (if the mare has an A, At, or A+ allele), grullo foals (if the mare is dun), perlino foals (if the mare has cream, Ccr), or classic or amber champagne (if the mare carries Ch). The only thing you won't get are red-based colors, like chestnut, palomino, liver, etc. (That is, unless your Vault of Stars is Ee or eE.)

Most people aren't going to spend 1000hb breeding their mares just to check out offspring colors, so I'd recommend using the horse search! It's a pretty excellent tool for exploring genetics. For instance, if you just choose "Must Have" for the E allele, you'll be able to look through all the black based horses in the game :) The Genetics Guide (found in the sidebar near the bottom) is really helpful too!
