Boy, what a month it has been.

Apparently my custom build PC is having teething problems.
It was built brand new in September or October. I saved up money for the new desktop for over 2 years.
I had to learn how to use Windows 10 after being used to 7.
Earlier this month, my computer wouldn't boot up because the BIOS needed an update. My tech friend took care of that, but I had to wait one week for her because of her class exams.
Then there was an entire day of no Internet due to the weather.
Now my hard drive bit the dust. I had transferred it over to the new one from my old desktop.
Only reason why I still have a functioning computer at all is because I got a SSD when I custom built my new desktop so I could put the OS on it and keep everything else separate on a hard drive.
Ugh. I had to order a new HDD, and because of the holidays, it's a big question mark on when the replacement is going to arrive.
Plus the cost of replacing said hard drive totally blew my budget as well.Post edited by Forestshadow at 2018-12-22 16:08:31 -
My sympathies. We lost our trusty Windows 98 computer several years ago, tried installing a new motherboard without success and finally had to buy a new computer. I wanted to get a Windows 7, but my husband wanted a full size desktop, not a compact one, so we had to get Windows 10. Talk about culture shock! I'm still not nearly as comfortable with the new operating system as I was with Win. 98. On of the hardest changes was having to upgrade my Photoshop program along with the operating system. I'm still not fully comfortable with that either.
So, I truly feel your pain. It's got to be really awful to have something custom built turn out to have so many problems.

Same here. Went from Windows 7 with my old desktop to windows 10 with my laptop. Talk about not knowing what's going on. Two years later, I still don't know how to work all the bells and whistles, but I can function! It will get better as you start figuring things out! Good luck!Chuck help me resist the Shiny babies.... Chuck says I'm on my own. :'(
