Horse marked wrong era?

I just joined, so I'm in Era 7, but I used a Herd Helper to create a mare today, and she's listed as Era 6.
I thought all my foundation horses were supposed to be Era 7? Did I just misunderstand this, or is it a mistake?

She is an exceptional producer. All exceptionals have a 1 era handicap since they essentially skip a generation.Breeding high quality Sheldasen horses in all the fancy colors.

Also eras don’t really effect the horses unless you are trying to get on a particular leaderboardBreeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
