I was wondering why this chesnut was so dark because she was just plain SS. So I added Sty figuring she must be randomly Homozygous DP and so it seems she was?

I'm pretty sure that if you add another Sty you will have a black liver!

I'm not good at recognizing DP but I ALWAYS seem to get chestnuts with the exceptional producing Appaloosa HH and I notice some are quite darker than the others! I got lucky and created this girl during the brindle breakout

She was just a dark chestnut with no sooty at all, but one made her liver so she must of been Hom DP! I couldn’t help but add the other gene because it’s so much cheaper than adding DP copies in the lab!
