Upgrade Question

Hey, so I’ve almost had my basic upgrade for a year. It told me I had 27 days left, so I bought another upgrade for the year. I went into my upgrades and it shows the two basic upgrades I have. When the 27 days are over does it automatically go to the other one I bought? Or do I have to push the activate button when the old one runs out?
