Gray out?
-
Can you edit gray out of the genetics?
-
Yes, as long as it is not a lined horse that has a homozygous grey parent.ID 195859
-
Sorry new at this what is lined? Homozygous means two dominant genes, correct?
-
Yes. A lined horse is a horse that has parents (a horse you bred, not created). A foundation (a horse you created) can be changed to anything with Gene Mod Tokens (GMTs). A lined horse can only be changed to what is genetically possible from it's parents. So if one parant is GG for grey, it can not be not grey. If the grey parent is Gg, the foal can be changed from G to g, making it not grey.ID 195859
-
It still carries the gene though. Can it be bred out?
-
Oh you meant bred out, I thought you meant edit it out, as in removing it. Yes you can breed it out, although every foal will have a 50% chance of getting it, if the grey parent is Gg for grey, and the other parent is gg for grey.ID 195859
-
Oh, I meant edit it out initially, but I don't want it showing up in the foals. That chance gets less the farther out you breed though, right? Lol it's been a long time since the fruit knats in science class.
-
No, it does not. If the parent is Gg, then the foal will either be:
- gg, meaning no grey gene, and the foal will never give a grey foal (unless bred to a grey horse).
- Gg, meaning one grey gene, and the foal will give 50% grey foals (unless bred to a grey horse).
If it is bred to an other grey horse, the chance of a grey rises to 75% (or 100% if the other parent is homozygous grey (GG)).ID 195859 -
Ah, thank you. I was trying for a certain color breed but when I breed checked the colts the only ones the game left carry gray. I'll have to try again.
-
Homozygous just means both the same, not necessarily dominant. A gene can also be homozygous recessive. For example, if you want flaxen to show, you're looking for homozygous recessive ff.
-
I'm actually starting to figure this out. Too bad breeding doesn't start for a few more days.
-
Which certain colour are you looking for?Breeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genes
