Show horse?
  • This colt was born at the beginning of the season. He has placed last in every show entered. I really love his color though. I'm a little short on space, think he will start to place decent and at least earn a meager amount?

  • I normally dont show my foals because it's a 50/50 chance they will do well since they cant train... I would hold off to see how he does when he's older
  • Foals don't train, so the results in their classes are basically a coin toss. Even once they start training, they will not hit their peak until they are mature adults.

  • I've had a few hit 2.5 already untrained at less than a month, so didn't know if he'd be worth holding on to with his stable mates showing so much better.
  • You really don’t know how a horse will show until they’ve leveled off (usually when their age reaches their PT score).

Foals don’t train so as confluence said it’s a coin toss and those foals with 2.5 points were lucky not better showers.

Low PT horses train slower and tend to earn points faster in the beginning because they stay in each level longer and have the chance to become competitive before they move up.

High pt horses train quicker and tend to rocket up the levels. They can move from last place to last place every week as they level up until they move into the bigger classes and can become competitive

  • All foals have base scores to determine where they place in a class that lie between 0 and 10 points. As everyone above has already said, they are not in training so their base score will only change depending on how consistent they are.

At Level 1 Local, there are only 2 horses in a class. Which one get's first is all luck. Level 1 Regional has 3 horses per class, Level 4 National has 4 horses per class, and Level 1 World has 5. Even at Level 1W, luck plays a major role in where any foal places.
