Show Horses: Yall Have This issue?
-
Ive been struggling to get my daily income back up for months now. Ive got a good group of pointed foundies & some older lined horses, but yet my number keeps dwindling not increasing.
I keep *almost* all my altered babies - not enough room - but now im noticing a new issue. A majority of my youngsters average no more than 20 points total until theyre five or so. And my own personal older horses level out at only 400 total.
Do yall have the same issue? Is there anything I can do short of manually entering all 1400 of my horses? -
I think what you are seing is the result of the shortened breeding season. Before, they would have twice as much time to gain points. My highest pointed 11y.o have 770 points, and with the old system, I would expect the double.
This is also why the foundations created with 500+ points are so valueable, it would take them 7-12 months to earn the same amount of points :)Post edited by Herzeloyde at 2019-03-12 07:08:54 -
So is there anything I can do? Is it worth it to raise 12PT show horses anymore or focus on the high point foundations?
-
I make sure to have a huge range of the PT-scale, because the lower PT-horses will begin to collect points (and money) a lot faster than the high PT-horses. Until the age of 11-12, most of my best earners have PT-scores below 12.5. After the age of 13 the 13+ PT horses shine. But then you have payed for their keep for a whole real life year, and you need money during that time as well.
-
So the best thing to do is just to keep breeding and keeping show horses. That is what works for the players on the forest server, who have had 1 month breeding seasons since the server started :)
-
Actually, 5 foundations created with points, bought from the auction, with PT scores from 7.2 to 10.4 beats my high PT-horses in the 11 year old group, which just proves for me that the best thing is to keep a huge range of PT-scores.
8 out of my 25 current best showing 11 year olds are foundations.

I play on both servers, and what works on server 2 is I keep all the foals I breed save a few that I sell. The ones I don’t keep for breeding all get snipped and stuk in a barn. I breed about 70 horses a month and keep 60 ish. My show bonus grows a couple hundred, to a thousand every month, I think it’s about $13,000 right now. I’m barely starting to get to the 3rd generation on that account, so most of my foals pt is 9-11. I’ve only been playing about a year though so I’m sure other methods work better, but that one works for me.

I appreciate you guys thanks:)

While I don't do it as much on this server, on the other server I do a search on auction days for Horses for Auction>Under 16 years old>spayed/gelded only>sort by all time points. Of all the ones that pop up I put in a bid only if no one else has (so, never more than 2600hbs), and only if the horse brings in 30+ hbs per day from showing.

I do the same as Confluence on the other server too except I search all genders and after the auction I alter them all before sorting them into barns.
I also take risks on older horses that don’t necessarily have a lot of points or show history but are owned by players with at least a basic account that you know the horse has been trained but may not have been shown.
During Ammits Shoot for the Stars contest I got a few 17 year olds with under 30 points that added over 100 points in the week I gave them before I planned to send them back to the auction to Hopefully breakeven before I lost them at rollover. (If you buy an auction horse it just needs to make you 100 hbs in daily bonus to make you break even when you reauction it) I ended up keeping 2 and the one lasted a few years and a few hundred pointsBreeding even generation Grullos with KP, Axiom RBG & Wrong Warp, Chinnchilla, Onyx, Phantom Autumn, Bats, Ghosts, Pumpkins, Skulls & Spiders, Plaid, Watercolour genesThanked by 1ChateauAlbere
