Today is the shortest day of the year, and tonight the longest night. For those of us who live in the north anyways. (You southern folks enjoy all that daylight you are hogging :D) Almost every culture has traditions formed around the winter solstice to entice the sun to return. And that is no different for us. The gods of Arengee must be appeased. They demand the creation of horses black as the longest night. Create for them. CREEEEAAATE.

From now on special event DHH are different. You do not need to click a link. Just go straight to your create a horse page to claim the event automatically.

It is also the sixth night of Hanukkah tonight. Since this day marks the rebirth of the dying sun I thought I would add a little bit of summer color. Roses are now available to decorate your horses, in colors to match the rose hedges.

The funny thing is that today was quite possibly the lightest day since the beginning of November here. It was actually sunny today (for those three hours of light anyway ;) ) - there have been maybe three or four sunny days in the past few months. And there is snow now, which makes a huge difference in terms of light. Made my day.
